on Henri Cartier-Bresson

An excerpt from DEAR DAVE, 25

In 1973, one of the London Sunday papers printed a mysterious photograph by Henri Cartier Bresson of a man facing a giant stone wall on a beach. I tore it out and pinned it to the wall, next to the line drawings sent into space on the Pioneer spacecraft  explaining man, woman, and the earth’s place in the solar system.  Its message seemed to me just as urgent.
