An-My Lê came to the United States from Saigon as a political refugee in 1975. She completed an MFA in Photography at Yale University in 1993. Lê’s work is in the collections of many major museums including the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the Metropolitan Museum of Art; Dallas Museum of Art; the Whitney Museum of American Art and the Yale University Art Gallery. In 1997 her work was exhibited in “New Photography 13” at the Museum of Modern Art, New York and her exhibition “Small Wars” was on view at PS1/MOMA Contemporary Art Center, New York in 2002. “Trap Rock” was commissioned by Dia and on view at Dia: Beacon from 2006 to 2008.
