Tim Hetherington

Tim Hetherington was born in Liverpool, and studied literature at Oxford University. He is based in New York and is a contributing photographer for Vanity Fair magazine. Long Story Bit By Bit: Liberia Retold was published by Umbrage Editions in 2009 and Chris Boot will publish a new book, Infidel, this year. He is the recipient of many awards including the World Press Photo of the Year Award in 2007 and an Alfred I. duPont award in 2009. His directorial debut film about a platoon of soldiers in Afghanistan, entitled Restrepo, was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
