Yuri Kozyrev

Yuri Kozyrev documented the fall of the Taliban in 2001, and was based in Baghdad between 2003 and 2009 as a contract photographer for Time magazine. He has received several World Press Photo Awards for picture from Chechnya, Iraq and Beslan. In 2007 he co-founded the photo agency NOOR together with nine fellow photographers. Reporting about the uprisings in the Middle East from Cairo to Bahrain, Libya and Yemen, he has received the Visa d’Or prize for his recent body of work “On Revolution Road” at the Visa Pour I’mage International Photojournalism Festival.
